A.C.M.E – Texas Council, Inc. was organized in 1982 to carry out the vision of the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment in the state of Texas and surrounding areas to provide opportunities for couples to grow their marriage relationships. The Texas Council is led by a board of 10 couples who meet twice a year to plan an Annual State Conference and share ideas from local chapters and leader couples. The Texas Council shares events and assists in the coordination of area retreats and leadership workshops, as well as formation of Marriage Enrichment Groups (MEGs). The Texas Council hosts an Annual State Conference. The weekend is planned to provide opportunities for marriage enrichment and includes a keynote speaker couple and breakout sessions providing tools for committed couples to strengthen their relationship. Couples enjoy meeting new friends and reuniting to grow friendships with couples they have met at other conferences. The Texas Council is a non-profit organization that receives guidance and support from the Association for Couples in Marriage Enrichment (ACME), an international, non-profit, non-sectarian organization. ACME strives to promote better marriages by providing enrichment opportunities and resources that strengthen couple relationships, increase intimacy and enhance personal growth, mutual fulfillment and family wellness. (www.bettermarriages.org) The Texas Council strives to model the slogan of David and Vera Mace, "To work for better marriages, beginning with our own." |
